CSPC Selects Technip Energies Technology For Huizhou Phase III Ethylene Cracker

CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Co. (CSPC) has awarded a contract to Technip Energies (T.EN) to provide the proprietary technology and process design for a mega liquid ethylene cracker, part of the Huizhou Phase III project in China. The 1.6-mta ethylene plant, which will utilize T.EN’s Ultra Selective Conversion U and W coil furnace technology, is expected to have 20% lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions than a similar conventional facility and will be able to maximize future benefit from the rapidly decarbonizing power grid. In addition to the ethylene cracker technology, T.EN will provide key proprietary technology, including a Heat Integrated Rectifier System, Ripple Trays and Spect Caustic Treatment Unit.  A project schedule was not given. This award builds on our long-term collaboration, illustrated by the successful delivery of two prior ethylene plants in Huizhou, China.
