Hengli Petrochemical plans to build two new purified PTA production plants in the Daya Bay petrochemical park in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China. The units, requiring an investment of USD 1.69 billion, will each have 2.5 mta of PTA production capacity. Subject to governmental approvals, operations are scheduled to begin at the end of 2021. Once complete, Hengli's total PTA production capacity will increase to 16.6 mta. The company recently started up a fifth PTA line at its site on Changxing Island, Dalian, China. All five PTA lines at Dalian utilize Invista's technology.
