Ineos Styrolution has broken ground for a new world-scale acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plant in Ningbo, China. The 600 kta ABS unit will be located adjacent to a polystyrene plant that Ineos acquired from Total in February 2019. Operations are scheduled to begin by 2023. The location of the new site was selected because of its extensive access to feedstock supply options and excellent supply chain connection to customers.
