Topsoe’s technology has been selected by Mintal Hydrogen Energy Technology for a new commercial scale green ammonia facility in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China.The 390,000-t/y unit, which will be the first dynamic green ammonia plant in China, is expected to start production in 2025. Topsoe will provide process licensing, engineering design package, proprietary equipment and catalysts. According to Mintal Hydrogen, the green ammonia will replace around 850,000 tons of coal and help reduce over 2-million tons of carbon dioxide.
