Mitsui & Co. and Pure Cycle Technologies have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU), as a first step to developing and operating a recycling facility in Japan to transform polypropylene (PP) waste into ultra-pure recycled PP (UPRP). Mitsui will help facilitate the pre-construction, on-the-ground-operations for the plant, which will be based on Pure Cycle’s technology, and will be an integral part of Pure Cycle’s work in Japan, Pure Cycle said.  Through this partnership with Pure Cycle, Mitsui aims to support the Japanese government’s goal to increase plastic recycling toward 2030, and enhance supply capability of recycled polypropylene resin.
