Petronas announced a "fire incident" that occurred on 12 Apr. 2019 at the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) in Johor, Malaysia. The fire occurred at its atmospheric residue desulphurization unit, which is currently in the commissioning stage. The unit is part of Petronas' Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project, which includes a 300 kbpd refinery and a petrochemical complex. Operations are expected to begin early this year.
