PTTGC to shut LLDPE plant
Bangkok Polyethylene, a PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) subsidiary, is likely to undertake a planned shutdown at its low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant. The company has schedule to shut the plant in early-September 2018. The planned shutdown is expected to remain in force for around two weeks. The plant has a production capacity of 300 kta that is located at Map Ta Phut in Thailand. PTTGC’s core business is manufacturing and distributing olefins products to their downstream petrochemical plants and other industrial plants. The company's olefins plants use natural gas and naphtha as feedstock, allowing for flexibility in raw material use. PTTGC’s Group Performance Center - Olefins operates three plants with annual production of 2,890,000 tons. This includes ethylene production of 2,366,000 tons per year and propylene production of 524,000 tons per year.
