Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical is planning to restart its No. 1 naphtha-fed steam cracker at Mailiao after shutting for close to six weeks for annual maintenance works.
The No. 1 cracker is able to produce 700 kta of ethylene, 350 kta of propylene and 109 kta of butadiene. The No. 1 cracker will restart by July 13 or 14. The company has three naphtha-fed steam crackers in Mailiao. The No. 2 cracker is able to produce 1.03 mta of ethylene, 515 kta of propylene and 162 kta of butadiene, while the No. 3 unit is capable of producing 1.2 mta of ethylene, 600 kta of propylene and 180 kta of butadiene.
