Invista plans to increase nylon 6,6 capacity at its existing facility at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) in Shanghai, China. The project will increase nylon 6,6 production capacity by 40 kta to a total of 190 kta.  Construction is targeted for mid-2019 and production is expected to begin in 2020. In looking at invita forecast for the future growth of the nylon 6,6 polymer market, company see increased demand in Asia and are expanding our capacity to meet that demand. Invista also has a 215 kta hexamethylene diamine (HMDA) plant at SCIP.
