Indorama Ventures has concluded the acquisition of Bangkok Cable Co.'s 94.91% equity stake in Bangkok Polyester Public Co. (BPC), a PET producer in Thailand. The acquisition raises Indorama's PET capacity share in Thailand to 58% from 43%. BPC is a significant exporter of PET to Japan, which is currently the world's largest exporter of PET, and enjoys zero import duties from Thailand. The acquisition is in line with Indorama's strategy of vertical integration as it is located close to Indorama's PTA facilities in Rayong and therefore improves Indorama's overall cost synergies and supply chain.
