Chemical Recycle Japan (CRJ), a subsidiary of Idemitsu Kosan, has finalized construction of a new chemical re-cycling facility in Ichihara City, Japan. The plant, located adjacent to Idemitsu’s Chiba unit, has the capability to process 20 kta of waste plastic to produce recycled oil. The company plans to blend the recycled oil with conventional oil and use it at Idemitu’s group refineries and petrochemical facilities. CRJ will conduct trial runs of the chemical recycling facility and associated pre-treatment plants and proceed with preparations for the start of commercial operation, which is expected April 2026.
