PS (polystyrene) is produced by SM (styrene monomer). Global PS production in 2012 came in at 10.4 mn tons, while global capacity in 2012 was 14.4 mn tons. The major downstream applications are electronic appliances, consumer products, construction etc... The main producers in the world are Styrolution, Total PC, Formosa Chemicals & Fibre etc...
